Below the horizon.  Never rises today
Alt: -21.52°   Az: 152.30°   Direction: South-South-East

IC 2391 is a Open Cluster in the Vela constellation. IC 2391 is situated south of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 2.5, IC 2391 is visible to the naked eye under a clear and dark sky, or with the help of a small binocular.

The image below is a photograph of IC 2391 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented in the image is 0.9700x0.9700 degrees (58.20x58.20 arcmins).
