IC 5217 - Planetary Nebula in Lacerta

Above the horizon.  Circumpolar today
Alt: 42.52°   Az: 57.09°   Direction: East-North-East

IC 5217 is a Planetary Nebula in the Lacerta constellation. IC 5217 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 11.3, IC 5217 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 6 inches (150mm) or more.

The image below is a photograph of IC 5217 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented in the image is 0.5000x0.5000 degrees (30.00x30.00 arcmins).
