Messier 45 is a Open Cluster in the Taurus constellation. Messier 45 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year. Given its visual magnitude of 1.2, Messier 45 is visible to the naked eye, easy under dark skies, might be difficult from heavily light polluted areas.

The image below is a photograph of Messier 45 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented in the image is 5.0000x5.0000 degrees (300.00x300.00 arcmins).
