5 Ursae Minoris visual magnitude is 4.25. Because of its moderate brightness, 5 Ursae Minoris is easily visible to the naked eye from locations with dark skies, while it might be barely visible, or not visible at all, from light-polluted skies.

5 Ursae Minoris is situated close to the northern celestial pole and, as such, it is visible for most part of the year from the northern hemisphere.
