IC 1470 - HII Ionized region in Cepheus

Above the horizon.  Circumpolar today
Alt: 73.67°   Az: 312.60°   Direction: North-West

IC 1470 is a HII Ionized region in the Cepheus constellation. IC 1470 is situated close to the northern celestial pole and, as such, it is visible for most part of the year from the northern hemisphere. Given its B magnitude of 11.5, IC 1470 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 8 inches (200mm) or more.

The image below is a photograph of IC 1470 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented in the image is 0.5000x0.5000 degrees (30.00x30.00 arcmins).
