HR2098 is a giant star of spectral class G8 in the constellation of Columba.

HR2098 visual magnitude is 6.44. Because of its faintness, HR2098 is visible to the naked eye only from locations with very dark skies, while it is not visible at all from skies affected by light pollution.

HR2098 is situated south of the celestial equator, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere.
