σ Lupi is a giant star of spectral class B2 in the constellation of Lupus.

σ Lupi visual magnitude is 4.42. Because of its moderate brightness, σ Lupi is easily visible to the naked eye from locations with dark skies, while it might be barely visible, or not visible at all, from light-polluted skies.

σ Lupi is situated south of the celestial equator, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere.
