HR1978 is a multiple giant star of spectral class F0 in the constellation of Orion.

HR1978 visual magnitude is 6.09. Because of its faintness, HR1978 is visible to the naked eye only from locations with very dark skies, while it is not visible at all from skies affected by light pollution.
