Alt: -34.23°   Az: 181.95°   Direction: South

NGC 292 is a Barred Spiral Galaxy in the Tucana constellation. NGC 292 is situated south of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 2.2, NGC 292 is visible to the naked eye under dark skies, might require a small binocular from light polluted areas.

The image below is a photograph of NGC 292 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented in the image is 9.9973x9.9973 degrees (599.84x599.84 arcmins).
