HR2984 is a sub-giant star of spectral class B7 in the constellation of Puppis.

HR2984 visual magnitude is 6.41. Because of its faintness, HR2984 is visible to the naked eye only from locations with very dark skies, while it is not visible at all from skies affected by light pollution.

HR2984 is situated south of the celestial equator, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere.
